Sekaiju No Meiq 4 Ost Rarity

This promotional item came to Japanese gamers who decided to preorder Sekaiju no MeiQ (Etrian Odyssey in the US). It contains some unreleased tracks, as well as some older, 'demo' versions of songs from the game.

Commercial (2 CD) published by U/M/A/A on May 29, 2019 containing original soundtrack from Etrian Odyssey Nexus / 世界樹の迷宮X / Sekaiju no MeiQ CROSS with compositions by Yuzo Koshiro performed by Toshiharu Okajima, Noriyuki Kamikura, Toshiyuki Tanahashi, Daisuke Kunita, Daisuke Miyazaki, AYAKI, Yuzo Koshiro, Naomu Soeda, Yuma Ito, Sena.

Yuzo Koshiro was the king of VGM in his day. PCM and FM were his tools, and he could make any game's music sound awesome with these rudimentary synths. FM is, of course, the more artificial of the two, as it was used on the NES, MSX, and PCE–all the old stuff. Surprisingly, I found myself falling in love with the FM tracks, even though the PCM tracks sounded great as well.

When you hear these tracks, you'll certainly be taken back to the days of Castlevania and Ys. It's good to hear a composer doing this sort of thing again. The audio samples speak for themselves.

Though the OST suffices in many ways, since it includes both the DS and original FM audio tracks, some completionists may want to get their grubby hands on this fine little bonus disc.
